ADC Gains Ground As Mass Defections Hit APC, PDP, LP

THE African Democratic Congress (ADC) has recorded major defections in Akwa Ibom and Kaduna states ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akwa Ibom: 31 LP Chairmen Join
In Uyo, all 31 chapter chairmen of the Labour Party in Akwa Ibom defected to the ADC during the unveiling of Obidient structures. The event was attended by Peter Obi.
The ADC said the chairmen joined voluntarily, citing Obi’s leadership qualities and vision for Nigeria. One defector described Obi as possessing the “capacity, competence, commitment and compassion” to transform the country.
Kaduna: 23,000 Members Switch
In Kaduna State, over 23,000 members of the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, and Labour Party resigned to join the ADC in Lere Local Government Area.
ADC Kaduna officials, including Coalition Co-Chairman Bashir Saidu, received the defectors, describing the move as a significant political realignment ahead of 2027.
Party leaders assured the new members of equal opportunities and pledged commitment to inclusive governance.
