NIFES Urges FG To Prioritise Youth Empowerment To Tackle National Challenges
By BUNMI BUSOLA
THE Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES) has urged the Federal Government to make youth empowerment a central strategy for addressing Nigeria’s socio-economic and moral challenges.
Speaking in Abuja ahead of the 2025 National Missions Conference, NIFES National Director, Rex Onuh, said investing in young people is crucial to shaping Nigeria’s future. He noted that NIFES has trained over two million youths through leadership development, discipleship and value-driven education.
Onuh warned that corruption, moral decline and insecurity continue to undermine national growth, but expressed confidence that value-based leadership among young people can help rebuild the country.
He called for stronger collaboration between government and stakeholders to equip youths with the skills, integrity and character needed for nation-building. He also urged leaders to model justice and excellence, saying this sets the right example for future generations.
The upcoming conference, themed “Ripe for Harvest”, will host more than 3,000 participants focused on nurturing responsible and principled young leaders.
