THE Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially named Rabat, the capital of Morocco, as the host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs, ending weeks of speculation about the venue.
According to reports, the high-stakes matches will take place at the Rabat Olympic Stadium, one of Africa’s premier sporting facilities, which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
CAF had earlier announced Morocco as the host nation for the decisive playoffs but withheld details of the exact city and venue until now.
The playoffs will decide the final African teams to qualify for the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup, with nations set to battle fiercely for the last remaining spots on Moroccan soil.
