THE Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to reducing unemployment through large-scale vocational training under the National Artisans Skills Acquisition Programme (NASAP).
Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, disclosed this in Abuja while receiving a delegation from the University of Uyo Centre for Skills Acquisition and Rural Development. He said the ministry would collaborate with institutions to equip youths with technical skills vital for housing and infrastructure development.
Ata pledged budgetary support for the centre’s projects in 2026, commending its alignment with NASAP’s goals. Permanent Secretary, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, added that skilled manpower is key to delivering affordable housing nationwide.
The Centre’s Director, Ambassador Ernest Essien, praised the government’s artisan training drive as a catalyst for sustainable job creation.
