THE Federal Government has dismissed claims of genocide in Nigeria, describing the country as an “accommodative paradise” for all citizens regardless of religion or politics.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated this during the Progressive Governors Forum’s Quarterly Strategy Meeting in Abuja, themed “FGN Synergy 2025: One Message, One Future.”
Idris said the genocide narrative was false and aimed at dividing the country.
“Such misinformation only spreads hatred. Nigerians must unite to shut down these divisive narratives,” he said.
He urged state information commissioners to counter fake news at both national and international levels, stressing that Nigeria’s strength lies in its shared values and unity.
