Assault On Corps Member: Former Udo Ga-achi Security Personnel Arraigned, Hearing Set For January 14

FOUR former operatives of the disbanded Operation Udo Ga-achi security outfit have been arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka, Anambra State, over the alleged assault of a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
The defendants — Emmanuel Samson (29), Jude Obasi (43), Ndudirim Michael (28), and Nweke Ezinwanne (27) — were charged alongside Emeka Emetumba, Nwanne Afuonu, and others still at large, in a seven-count charge filed by the Anambra State Commissioner of Police.
They are accused of conspiring to commit a felony by indecently assaulting a female corps member, inflicting physical injuries, unlawfully stripping her naked, and using intimidation. The alleged incident occurred in Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
All four defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following a bail application by the defense counsel, Chief Magistrate U.E. Onochie granted bail to the accused persons. The case was adjourned to January 14, 2026, for definite hearing.
