Nigeria Boosts Climate Action With Methane Cuts, CNG Innovation

ENERGY expert Fatai Quadri says Nigeria is strengthening its climate action through methane reduction and clean energy initiatives. Quadri, CEO of Alfa Designs Nigeria Ltd., noted that the country’s participation in global partnerships such as the OGMP 2.0 and the Global Methane Pledge reflects its deepening environmental commitment.
He said major firms like NNPC Ltd. and NLNG are adopting advanced monitoring technologies to curb methane leaks and flaring, positioning Nigeria as a regional leader in emissions control.
Quadri added that Alfa Designs is driving clean energy adoption with investments in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) infrastructure, including conversion centres, compressor stations, and mobile delivery systems, in partnership with global equipment manufacturers.
