FG Boosts Food Security, Distributes Farm Inputs To Delta Cooperatives
By AUGUSTINA McSOLOMON-OGHAKPERUO
THE Federal Government has distributed farm equipment and inputs to 22 farmers’ cooperatives in Delta State to enhance food security and support small-scale farmers.
The items — including knapsack sprayers, motorized sprayers, organic fertilizers, cocoa fungicides, and hammer mills — were provided through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in collaboration with the Delta State government.
Agriculture Minister Abubakar Kyari, represented by Dr. Perpetua Iyere-Usiahon, said the initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s food security agenda and aims to boost productivity, create jobs, and reduce poverty.
Farmers’ groups commended the government’s support and pledged to use the equipment effectively to increase food production.
