Burna Boy, Rema, Wizkid Top Spotify’s Afrobeats Ranking For 2025

SPOTIFY has unveiled its list of top Afrobeats artistes for 2025, with Burna Boy, Rema, and Wizkid leading the chart. Asake and Ayra Starr complete the top five, reflecting the genre’s growing global influence.

The streaming giant noted that Afrobeats is gaining massive traction across countries including the U.S., Brazil, France, the U.K., Germany, and Nigeria. Among the most-streamed tracks are Rema’s Calm Down with Selena Gomez, Ayra Starr’s Santa, and Burna Boy’s collaboration We Pray with Coldplay.

Notably absent from the list are Davido, Tems—who recently won a Grammy—and South Africa’s Tyla, despite her MTV VMA wins for Best Afrobeats.

With roots in Fela Kuti’s Afrobeat, Afrobeats has transformed into a global powerhouse, propelled by new stars breaking international charts while expanding its influence worldwide.
