THE Asagba of Asaba, HRM Asagba Azinge SAN, has appealed to lawmakers, business leaders, and indigenes of Asaba at home and abroad to donate medical facilities to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba.
During a visit to the hospital, the monarch commended ongoing infrastructural development but stressed the need for more equipment to boost healthcare delivery. He highlighted requests made by the Acting Managing Director, Dr. Ekenem Omo, which include a mortuary complex, dialysis machines, solar-powered inverters, CT scan, and MRI.
The Asagba promised to rally political leaders, including Rt. Hon. Ngozi Okolie, to support the centre, while also urging doctors and nurses to remain dedicated despite the challenges of brain drain. He praised medical workers who have chosen to stay in Nigeria, assuring them that history will honour their sacrifice.
Dr. Omo, in his remarks, thanked the monarch for his reforms in Asaba’s healthcare, including free medical outreach and drug rehabilitation initiatives, and pledged FMC’s commitment to partnering with these efforts to safeguard public health.
