Delta State Sets Up Committee For 2025 National Youth Games

Delta State has announced an eight-member Local Organising Committee (LOC) to prepare for the 9th National Youth Games, scheduled for August in Asaba.
The Delta State Sports Commission (DSSC) said the committee, led by its Chairman Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori, will ensure the games are well-organised and memorable. Chief Solomon Ogba, a former Commissioner for Sports, will serve as Adviser.
Oborevwori explained that the LOC’s goal is to showcase Delta’s leadership in sports development and its ability to nurture young talent. “Delta has consistently delivered excellence in hosting major sporting events, and we intend to do even better this year,” he said.
Delta State previously hosted the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championships and the 2022 National Sports Festival, earning national praise for its facilities and organisation.
Other members of the LOC include Mr. Sam Sodje, Mr. Oghale Ofremu, Miss Henrietta Ehiabor, Mr. Festus Ohwojero, Mr. Paul Omamomo-Ojo, and Mr. Emuobo Igalase, who will serve as Secretary.
With the committee now in place, Delta is set to deliver an exciting and world-class National Youth Games that will strengthen its position as Nigeria’s sports capital.
