Emmanuel Ogidi To Chair 2024 DOPF Lecture
ELDER Emmanuel Ogidi, a distinguished public relations and marketing expert, has been selected as Chairman of the 2024 Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) lecture. The event is scheduled to take place on November 20 at Hotel Vienna in Asaba, Delta State.
Ogidi, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Economists of Nigeria (FCE), the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (FNIPR), and the Nigerian Institute of Marketing, brings a wealth of experience in public service, political leadership, and security strategy.
Elder Ogidi’s career reflects a deep commitment to public service and leadership, having previously served Chairman of the Delta State Land Use Allocation Committee, Board Member of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Special Adviser on Neighbourhood Watch and Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund
In the political arena, Ogidi led the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State as Chairman from 2005 to 2008, achieving a significant victory in the 2007 elections. He later served as PDP National Vice Chairman for the South-South Zone from 2016 to 2020, playing a key role in regional leadership. Currently, he is a member of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, working to address internal challenges following the 2023 general elections.
Beyond politics, Ogidi is active in community service, serving as the National Chairman of the GKS Laity, reflecting his dedication to both civic and religious engagement.
This year’s DOPF lecture, themed “Security Challenges: Finding a Local Implementable Solution,” aims to explore practical, community-focused strategies to address Nigeria’s pressing security concerns.
The Keynote Speaker will be ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. His address is expected to provide valuable insights into sustainable security solutions that align with local needs.
The 2024 lecture will mark the sixth edition of the DOPF series and is expected to attract stakeholders from various sectors, including security, media, leadership, and community development. With Elder Ogidi at the helm, the forum will emphasize the importance of local collaboration in tackling security challenges.
In the 2023 edition, Dr. Doris Amaka Ochei, a renowned financial expert and philanthropist, delivered the keynote on the theme, “Physical Policy and Taxation: Balancing Revenue Generation and Economic Growth.” Dr. Ochei, the Founder and CEO of the Doris Amaka Ochei Foundation, holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Public Policy, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Forensic Accounting. She is a Fellow in Accounting and a Chartered Taxation practitioner.
With Elder Ogidi leading this year’s lecture, the 2024 DOPF event aims to foster actionable dialogue towards addressing Nigeria’s security challenges through locally driven solutions.
