Nigeria Decides: INEC Declares Tinubu Winner In Ekiti As Labour Party Takes Early Lead in Delta

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced the presidential election results for Ekiti State, declaring the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the winner.
According to Professor Akeem Lasisi, the Chief Collation Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun, Osun State, Tinubu secured 201,494 votes, representing 65% of valid votes cast.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, followed with 89,554 votes (29%), while the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, scored 11,397 votes (4%). The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, garnered 264 votes.
Professor Lasisi announced that Ekiti State recorded 988,923 registered voters, with 315,058 accredited voters, 308,171 valid votes, and 6,301 rejected ballots, bringing the total votes cast to 314,470.
Labour Party Leads Early in Delta State
Meanwhile, as collation continues across Nigeria, early presidential results from several local government areas (LGAs) in Delta State show the Labour Party in the lead.
From the Ethiope West LGA, the Electoral Officer announced 23,938 accredited voters. The APC received 3,850 votes, LP had 10,199, while the PDP got 5,403.
In Ika South LGA, the APC polled 3,290, LP 17,868, and PDP 7,485.
For Aniocha North LGA, the APC secured 1,146, LP 11,678, and PDP 3,783.
In Ika North East LGA, the APC recorded 1,902, LP 8,980, and PDP 16,696.
From Oshimili North LGA, the APC got 1,688, LP 14,929, and PDP 4,796.
INEC officials in Asaba announced that collation will continue today at 11:00 a.m., with more local government results expected.
