AI Register, AI Voters and AI Results: Fraudulent Electoral Foundation For 2027 Elections
BY INWALOMHE DONALD
IT is obvious that artificial intelligence (AI) will conduct 2027 elections and not INEC. With AI register, AI voters, AI results will emerge and INEC has laid foundation for fraudulent 2027 elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has laid fraudulent electoral foundation for 2027 elections with generated AI fabricated election results, fake AI announcements of cancelled polls and AI-generated impersonations of electoral officials. INEC has created AI register, AI voters results to undermine the confidence in Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
The process of recruiting INEC ad-hoc staff is equally fraudulent today because members of ruling party are applying as staff of federal ministries and agencies. INEC has created the sophistication of artificial intelligence and new vulnerabilities that could allow it to manipulate electoral system and information.
2026 Electoral Act, sections 63 and 137 have laid foundation for AI fraudulent 2027 elections with several fraudulent sections. Section 63 of the Act, particularly the clause that allows a ballot paper without an official mark to be counted at the discretion of a returning officer will be a ballot coup. Section 137 , which outlines persons entitled to present election petitions is another dangerous provision that shields electoral officials from direct accountability for declaring AI results.
Our democracy cannot afford an AI electoral process that leaves citizens doubting whether their votes will count. The 2027 election must not become an AI contest in which the outcome is determined by questionable AI registers, compromised INEC AI institution, AI voter suppression, or AI electoral manipulation instead of the freely expressed will of the Nigerian people.
The 2027 Elections will produce the first AI generated elections result in Nigeria. From AI generated voters register, AI generated election results will emerge. AI generated voters register has laid foundation for AI generated elections result. 2026 Electoral Act is clear, there is no provision for AI generated register and AI generated results.
The appearance of suspected artificial intelligence-generated photographs in Nigeria’s preliminary voter register has raised serious questions about data integrity and administrative oversight ahead of the 2027 general elections. This controversy is particularly striking because INEC itself has repeatedly warned Nigerians about the dangers artificial intelligence poses to elections. The commission has identified deep fakes, synthetic images, and cloned voices and fabricated electoral information as emerging threats capable of undermining public confidence ahead of the 2027 general election.
The allegation that more than 50 million AI-generated voters exist on the INEC register is an extraordinarily serious issue. It must not be accepted as established fact without verifiable evidence. But neither should such a claim be dismissed without a transparent investigation. INEC owes Nigerians a clear explanation of the integrity of the voters’ register that safeguards against fraudulent registrations, and the procedures for identifying and removing ineligible or duplicate entries. Voters register that lacks integrity cannot produce a credible result.
I want to warn that the use of AI-generated images and duplicated NINs in the register posed a serious threat to the credibility of INEC and the integrity of the 2027 general elections. AI generated voter register could be used to declare AI generated 2027 elections results. AI generated voters register will lead to declaration of AI generated results. I want to warn INEC that no candidate is going to court which is a serious threat to post 2027 elections because the popular phrase, “go to court,” often used after disputed elections is now creating an impression that political actors are confident electoral challenges will not succeed.
I want to call for an independent and transparent forensic audit of the national voters’ register and urge INEC to work with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to address the alleged duplication.
A synthetic AI-generated images and duplicate NINs in the National Register of Voters would represent a grave threat to the integrity of the 2027 elections and a breach of the 2026 Electoral Act. If opposition political parties are not careful, 2027 elections are being rigged even before the dates of the elections. There are glitches when accessing the voters register online. Some months ago, an aide to Minister of FCT published information from INEC back-head server of a registered voter.
Concerned Nigerians are issuing strong warning to INEC Chairman Over Allegations of AI-Driven Election Rigging for President Tinubu. Nigerians are worried that the number of registered voters at Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo’s Polling Unit miraculously soars from 397 in 2024 to 4,783 In 2026 so that he can give President Tinubu 2.5 million votes. There are several polling units that are affected in Edo State and other states.
INEC must rise above political pressure, address these allegations openly in units and wards, and demonstrate that every legitimate vote will count and every unlawful attempt to manipulate the process will be confronted. Nigerians, opposition parties, civil society organisations, and the media must also remain vigilant, demand accountability, and insist on a transparent electoral process.
There are many fraudulent sections in 2026 Electoral Act. Candidates for 2027 elections are raising the alarm that they are not going to courts to challenge 2027 elections result because they no longer have confidence in the judiciary. This is a call to anarchy in post 2027 elections in Nigeria. It has raised concerns over the growing reliance on courts to determine the outcome of elections in Nigeria.
Nigeria is among countries with a high number of election petitions and there are increasing involvements of the judiciary in deciding electoral disputes which amounts to a growing “judicialization of the electoral process.” Courts are increasingly being called upon to determine who won elections, rather than merely resolving disputes arising from the electoral process. “I see that Nigeria is one of the countries with the highest number of election petitions, and all because the courts are very frequently involved in determining either the outcome or who won.
The development could undermine citizens’ confidence in the electoral process, particularly where voters believe their ballots may ultimately be displaced by court decisions. Technologies introduced to improve transparency should not become additional obstacles for litigants seeking to establish alleged electoral violations. Electoral reforms should ensure that voters, rather than prolonged litigation, remain at the centre of determining who governs them.
As Nigeria inches towards the 2027 general elections, an ominous pattern is beginning to emerge. The language of politics is becoming more threatening, more intolerant, and, in some cases, dangerously inflammatory. Politics is not supposed to be a do-or-die affair, and an election shouldn’t be a declaration of war.
Unfortunately, too many Nigerian politicians are desperate and appear prepared to go to any length to win elections. We have seen vote buying, threats, intimidation, ballot snatching, manipulation of results and endless legal battles. The desperation to capture power is often so intense that the electorate – the people in whose name democracy is practised – becomes an afterthought. What is particularly troubling ahead of 2027 is the emerging pattern of inflammatory political rhetoric.
The ruling party may be confident of victory, but no political party owns Nigeria, and no party has a divine or constitutional entitlement to remain in power. In a democracy, the people are the ultimate sovereigns. Their mandate must be earned through credible policies, responsible leadership, and the ballot box, not presumed through political arrogance.
