2027 Commonwealth Scholarship: Applications Open For Nigerians To Study In UK

NIGERIANS seeking to pursue a master’s degree in the United Kingdom can now apply for the 2027/2028 Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship.
The scholarship is for study beginning in September or October 2027.
Applicants must submit their applications by 4:00 p.m. British Summer Time on Tuesday 20 October 2026.
How to Apply
Applicants must complete their applications through the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s official CSC Central online system. (CLICK HERE)
The commission said it would not accept applications or supporting documents submitted outside the platform.
Candidates must also apply through a participating nominator, with national nominating agencies serving as the main route.
However, individual nominators may set additional eligibility requirements and earlier deadlines.
Candidates Advised to Apply Early
The CSC has advised prospective applicants to begin the process early because the online application system is expected to experience heavy traffic close to the deadline.
Applicants should also note that they cannot edit their forms after submission. Late applications will not be accepted.
Candidates can use the official template application form and guidance document to prepare their responses before completing the online application.
What Happens After Application?
Participating nominators are expected to submit their selected candidates to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission by December 2026.
Applicants can expect to receive the outcome of their applications by July 2027.
The CSC also operates a two-factor authentication system. Therefore, applicants will need access to a smartphone or a second email account when registering.
Candidates are equally advised to monitor their email accounts, including spam and junk folders, for updates about their applications.
