23-Year-Old DELSU Student Becomes 11th Ajeh Of Ekwuoma Kingdom In Delta

AT 23, Daniel Afamefune Chukwujindu has taken on the responsibilities of traditional leadership while continuing his university education.
The Microbiology undergraduate of Delta State University, Abraka, was formally installed on Friday as the 11th Ajeh of Ekwuoma Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Chukwujindu succeeds his late father, King Chinedu Samuel Chukwujindu, Ezeagu-Ukpo I, who died on 2 June 2026.
His emergence followed the completion of his father’s burial rites. It also reflected Ekwuoma Kingdom’s long-standing tradition of primogeniture, which gives the first son of a reigning monarch the right of succession.
Following his installation, Chukwujindu assumed the traditional title Ezeagu-Ukpo II.
His new position now places him at the head of the kingdom’s traditional institution even as he pursues his university degree.
Speaking after the ceremony, the young monarch thanked the people of Ekwuoma for their confidence in him.
He promised to protect the customs and traditions of the kingdom while promoting peace, unity and development.
Chukwujindu also appealed to residents and indigenes living outside Ekwuoma to support the traditional institution.
He urged them to work together to build a stronger and more prosperous community.
Beyond unity, the monarch called for closer cooperation among the traditional institution, government and residents.
According to him, such collaboration will help the kingdom confront its challenges and accelerate development.
The new monarch’s emergence marks a notable generational transition in Ekwuoma, as he combines the demands of traditional leadership with the responsibilities of university education.
