HIS Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, joined other distinguished guests on Friday as Warri Kingdom marked the fifth coronation anniversary of His Imperial Majesty, Ògíamẹ̀ Atuwatsé III, CFR, the Olú of Warri Kingdom.
The anniversary ceremony took place at the Ògíamẹ̀ Atuwatsé III Royal Palace in Warri, bringing together government officials, traditional rulers and prominent sons and daughters of the kingdom.
The celebration also reflected five years of the Olu’s reign, which dignitaries described as a period marked by efforts to promote peace, unity and the preservation of Itsekiri cultural heritage.
Asagba Azinge received a warm welcome from the Olu of Warri and palace chiefs. His attendance, however, carried significance beyond the anniversary itself.
It highlighted the long-standing relationship between the Asaba and Warri kingdoms, two important traditional institutions whose histories, cultures and communities remain connected within Delta State.
The Asagba congratulated Ògíamẹ̀ Atuwatsé III on reaching the fifth anniversary of his coronation. He also offered prayers for greater achievements, wisdom and continued progress for the monarch and the people of Warri Kingdom.
Throughout the ceremony, speakers praised the Olu for his leadership and commitment to strengthening unity within his kingdom.
Dignitaries also offered prayers for his long life and a peaceful, prosperous and impactful reign.
Meanwhile, royal pageantry added colour to the occasion. Traditional dances, tributes, homage and other cultural displays brought together monarchs and guests from Delta State and beyond.
The gathering eventually ended with royal blessings and renewed calls for stronger cooperation among traditional institutions.
For Asagba Azinge, the event provided another opportunity to reinforce the importance of inter-kingdom relationships. For Warri Kingdom, it marked five years since the ascension of Ògíamẹ̀ Atuwatsé III to one of Nigeria’s most prominent traditional thrones.
Above all, the anniversary celebration projected a message of cultural continuity, mutual respect and cooperation among Delta State’s traditional institutions.
