Oborevwori Backs Cubana Millennium City As Major Delta Investment

DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has described the Cubana Millennium City as a major private-sector investment that will accelerate the state’s economic transformation.
The governor made the remark during a visit to the project’s exhibition booth at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026 in Asaba.
He received a briefing on the mixed-use development from officials of the Cubana Group.
Oborevwori praised the Chairman of Cubana Group, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, for investing in Delta State.
He said the project reflects growing investor confidence in the state’s economy.
The governor noted that the development supports his administration’s vision of expanding private investment and promoting sustainable urban growth.
He said the project would create jobs and stimulate business activities.
He added that it would also strengthen the construction, hospitality, tourism, commerce and real estate sectors.
Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment.
He said the government would continue to improve infrastructure, encourage investment and deepen partnerships with the private sector.
Officials at the exhibition showcased the master plan for the project.
They highlighted its residential, commercial, hospitality and recreational facilities.
Delegates and investors at the summit welcomed the development.
Many said the project would boost employment, improve infrastructure and enhance Delta’s appeal to local and foreign investors.
The governor said investments of this scale align with the objectives of the economic summit.
He added that they would support Delta’s ambition to become one of Nigeria’s leading investment destinations.
