Table Tennis: Nigeria’s U-19 Boys, Egypt’s Three Teams Qualify For Worlds

NIGERIA and Egypt have secured places at the 2026 ITTF World Youth Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
Both table tennis giants earned Africa’s qualification slots at the Africa Youth Championships in Accra, Ghana.
Nigeria sealed its ticket through the U-19 boys’ team. The team won its event to emerge as one of Africa’s representatives at the global tournament.
Egypt dominated the continental competition. Its U-15 boys’ team, U-15 girls’ team and U-19 girls’ team all won their respective events and qualified for Istanbul.
The 2026 ITTF World Youth Championships will hold from 21 to 28 November.
The qualification highlights the continued strength of Nigeria and Egypt in African youth table tennis. Both countries will now turn their attention to the global stage.
Nigeria will rely on its U-19 boys to challenge the world’s best young players. Egypt will also field three teams after its strong showing in Accra.
The two nations will carry Africa’s hopes when the championship gets underway in Turkey.
