Asagba Azinge Commissions New Garage at Ibori Golf Club, Pledges Continued Growth
Monarch inaugurates modern facility at Asaba golf club
THE Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, has commissioned a newly constructed eight-cart garage at the Ibori Golf and Country Club (IBCC), Asaba, describing the facility as another milestone in the club’s steady development and commitment to sporting excellence.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Saturday, brought together members of the royal court, golf enthusiasts and club officials to celebrate the completion of the new infrastructure, which is expected to improve the club’s operations and preserve its golfing equipment.
Monarch applauds unity among club members
Speaking on behalf of the Asagba, Chief Afam Obiago, the Oganihu Ahaba, expressed the monarch’s satisfaction with the quality of maintenance at the golf club as well as the cordial relationship among members.
He noted that Asaba has continued to distinguish itself as an inclusive community where people from different backgrounds coexist peacefully and contribute to development.
According to him, the royal father believes the land on which the golf club is situated will continue to experience progress and prosperity, while encouraging members to sustain the spirit of cooperation that has strengthened the institution over the years.
Support for forthcoming Asagba Golf Tournament
Chief Obiago also disclosed that the monarch had taken note of the programme for the forthcoming Asagba Golf Tournament and expressed enthusiasm about participating in the event.
Following the remarks, the royal father officially inaugurated the newly completed eight-cart garage, which has been named in his honour, and offered prayers for the continued success, expansion and sustainability of the Ibori Golf and Country Club.
Club appreciates royal support
Earlier, the Captain of the Ibori Golf and Country Club, Mr. Alex Joe, welcomed the Asagba and members of his entourage, thanking the monarch for his consistent encouragement and support towards the development of the club.
He acknowledged the royal father’s contributions to the successful construction of the new facility and briefed him on issues affecting the club, including the long-term maintenance of its golf course and green areas.
Mr. Joe also apologised on behalf of members for their inability to pay an earlier courtesy visit to the palace, reaffirming the club’s appreciation for the monarch’s enduring commitment to sports, recreation and community development in Asaba.
