Delta Launches Second Batch Pension Certificate Collection For Retirees

Second Batch Rollout Announced
THE Delta State Government has commenced the collection of certificates for the second batch of retirees eligible for payment of accrued rights and harmonised pension benefits.
The move is part of ongoing efforts to settle outstanding pension obligations for former civil servants in the state.
Publication of Eligible Names
Authorities disclosed that the list of affected retirees will be published in The Pointer Newspaper on 14 May 2026.
Eligible pensioners are expected to verify their names in the publication before proceeding with certificate collection.
Reminder to Earlier Beneficiaries
The government also advised pensioners whose names appeared in earlier publications but who are yet to collect their certificates to do so without delay.
Officials emphasised that prompt compliance would help prevent administrative bottlenecks in the disbursement process.
Payments Already Processed
According to the announcement, pension entitlements for retirees under the current exercise have already been credited to their respective Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs), signalling readiness for final processing and access.
Requirements for Collection
Retirees and their representatives are required to present valid identification documents, including:
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Voter’s card
- Driver’s licence or international passport
- Passport photographs
Special provisions were also made for representatives of ill retirees and next-of-kin of deceased pensioners, who must provide authorisation letters and supporting identification.
Call for Compliance
The Delta State Government urged all affected individuals to adhere strictly to the guidelines to ensure a seamless exercise.
A dedicated helpline has also been provided for enquiries and further clarification. Members of the public were directed to contact via call or WhatsApp on 0913-998-7552.
