Oborevwori Promises Jobs Boost Through Infrastructure Drive In Delta

Governor links ongoing construction projects to job creation and economic relief for residents.
DELTA State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling youth unemployment through sustained investment in infrastructure projects across the state.
The governor made this known while addressing workers at a project site handled by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in Osubi, located in Okpe Local Government Area.
Infrastructure as a Job Engine
Governor Oborevwori emphasised that infrastructure development remains a strategic tool for job creation, noting that ongoing projects are not only improving physical assets but also providing employment opportunities for young people.
He acknowledged the economic challenges facing many households, stressing that expanding opportunities for youths remains a top priority.
According to him, government interventions must directly address unemployment and create pathways for sustainable livelihoods.
Expansion of Construction Partnerships
The governor disclosed plans to deepen collaboration with Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, with more contracts expected to be awarded to the firm as part of efforts to accelerate development.
He revealed that the reconstruction of the Effurun Roundabout to NPA axis has already been awarded, forming part of a broader plan to revitalise infrastructure in Warri and Effurun.
Key Projects and Development Plans
Governor Oborevwori highlighted several ongoing projects, including the Trans Warri–Ode Itsekiri Roads and Bridges, noting that the inauguration would take place after the completion of the Ubeji-Ifie Road.
He assured residents that while some projects are still ongoing, they will deliver long-term benefits once completed.
Federal Support and Economic Outlook
The governor also commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for economic reforms, stating that increased revenue allocation has enabled states to fund infrastructure projects and meet salary obligations.
He urged continued support for the current administration, linking policy continuity to sustained development outcomes.

Governor Oborevwori concluded by appreciating workers and stakeholders for their contributions, reiterating that his administration remains focused on projects that directly impact the lives of residents.
