DSWMBMPCS Holds Third Biennial General Meeting, Shares Dividends As Cooperators Jubilate
THE Delta State Waste Management Board Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society (DSWMBMPC) has held its third Biennial General Meeting (AGM) with a call to see savings as future plans for a better life after service.
The meeting which took place today at Delta State Waste Management Board premises, Old Secretariat Complex, Asaba, had in attendance Cooperators of the Society, Directors from the Board and stakeholders from Cooperative Societies across the state.
The Chairman of the occasion who is the Cooperative Officer incharge of Oshimili South Local Government Area, Mr Johnson Idoghor, admonished Cooperators to always save from whatever they earn as civil servants, saying that Cooperative Savings was the master plan for a better life after service.
The Chairman discussed the Annual Account of the Cooperative Society which was adopted by the Cooperators without delay because of its clarity.
The outgoing president of the Cooperative Society, Mr Osuere Emeyese Monday thanked the Cooperators for attending the AGM even as it was shifted from Last year to this year because of COVID-19 pandemic and assured them of a better tomorrow.
While thanking his Executive Members for the job done so far, the outgoing president thanked Mr Idoghor for his numerous contributions in piloting the affairs of the Cooperative.
The executive members was then dissolved by Mr Johnson Idoghor while new Executive Members were elected. The Cooperators voted for the Executive Members to remain in their various positions as a reward for their hard work.
The Outgoing president, Mr Osuere Emeyese Monday declined the offer and stepped down from his position. Election was then contested where by the vice president, Mrs Akarume Ejiroghene was elected unopposed as the new President. A member of the executive, Mr Ekokigho Godspower was also elected unopposed as the new vice president.
Election was conducted for the Committee Membership which Mr Uche Onuwa won with a total vote of 31 against two other opponents who polled 16 each.
The new Executive Members include Mrs Akarume Ejiroghene as president, Mr Ekokigho Godspower as the vice president, Mr Onakpoma Francis as Secretary, Mrs Okpu Angela as Assistant Secretary, Mrs Dibie Ifeyinwa as treasurer, Mr Anthony Chimekwene and Mr Uche Onuwa as Members while Comr Osuere Emeyese Monday became ex-officio member.
The new President, Mrs Akarume Ejiroghene, thanked the Cooperators for electing and returning them unopposed and assured them of a better representation.
The highlight of the occasion outside the election was the raffle draw competition. Five lucky winners went home with five different prices.
