Governor Oborevwori Inspires Delta Police Cadets
DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged newly trained police cadets of Delta State origin to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law as they embark on their careers in the Nigeria Police Force.
The governor made the call on Wednesday at Government House, Asaba, while receiving the cadets who recently graduated from the Nigeria Police Academy. He congratulated them on their achievement, describing their successful training as a reflection of discipline, resilience, commitment, and patience.
A Noble but Demanding Profession
“You have chosen a noble but demanding profession that requires dedication, integrity, and professionalism at all times,” Governor Oborevwori said. He noted that the Police Academy has a long history of producing officers who have excelled in the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies.
The governor emphasized that the cadets’ conduct must inspire confidence in the communities they will serve, stressing the need for actions grounded in justice, fairness, and selfless service.
Security Achievements and Support
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security, Governor Oborevwori highlighted the improvements in safety across Delta State over the past two years. He assured that the government would continue to support security agencies to achieve more.
“To serve diligently, protect lives, and safeguard property, you must leverage your energy, familiarity with the local environment, and professionalism,” the governor added.
As part of the motivation, Governor Oborevwori announced the approval of monthly allowances for the cadets, effective from January, and wished them a successful and fulfilling career.
Cadets Pledge Commitment
Responding on behalf of the cadets, ASP Collins Akpevweoghene thanked the governor for his warm reception and encouragement. He described the gesture as reflective of people-centred leadership and a genuine concern for security and youth development.
ASP Akpevweoghene commended Governor Oborevwori for the administration’s achievements in security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, noting that these improvements have strengthened public confidence. The cadets pledged to maintain professionalism, integrity, and selfless service while praying for the governor’s continued wisdom and strength.
