AFCON 2025 Semi-Finals Confirmed After Dramatic Quarter-Final Weekend

THE semi-final line-up for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 has been confirmed, with Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco and Senegal advancing after an action-packed quarter-final weekend that concluded on Saturday night.
The four heavyweights negotiated tense knockout encounters to book their places in what promises to be a thrilling penultimate round.
Morocco to Face Nigeria
Hosts Morocco will take on Nigeria at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. The Atlas Lions maintained their title push with a composed 2-0 victory over Cameroon, with goals from Brahim Diaz and Ismaël Saibari showcasing their attacking depth and defensive discipline.
Nigeria sealed their semi-final spot with a 2-0 win over Algeria in Marrakech. Victor Osimhen opened the scoring before Akor Adams added a late second to confirm the Super Eagles’ progress.
Senegal Set for Egypt Clash
In the other semi-final, Senegal will battle record champions Egypt at the Grand Stade de Tanger in Tanger. Egypt booked the final semi-final ticket after edging defending champions Côte d’Ivoire 3-2 in a pulsating encounter that ended the Elephants’ title defence.
Senegal earlier advanced with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Mali in a tense West African derby, with Iliman Ndiaye’s first-half goal proving decisive.

The semi-final matches will be played on Wednesday, while the final is scheduled for 18 January in Rabat.
