Christmas: Kanma Calls For Hope, Credible Leadership, Collective Renewal
A lawyer and entrepreneur, Kennedy Kanma, has called on Nigerians, particularly residents of Delta North Senatorial District, to embrace hope, unity and renewed commitment to credible leadership as the nation celebrates Christmas.
Kanma made the call in a Christmas goodwill message in which he described the season as a sacred period for reflection, gratitude and recommitment to values such as love, justice, compassion and shared responsibility.
He acknowledged that Nigerians have endured significant hardships in recent years, including rising cost of living, insecurity, banditry and terrorism, noting that these challenges have contributed to a growing sense of hopelessness across the country.
According to him, many of Nigeria’s problems are fundamentally rooted in leadership failures, stressing that leadership remains the most critical factor in determining national progress or decline.
Despite the challenges, Kanma said he remained encouraged by the resilience, creativity and courage of Nigerians, adding that their determination continues to inspire his personal commitment to public service and community development.
He urged citizens to renew their dedication to building a society where opportunity is shared, diversity respected and no one is left behind, expressing confidence that collective effort can restore hope and secure a better future for the next generation.
Speaking ahead of the next election cycle, Kanma emphasized the importance of politics in shaping societal outcomes, describing it as the ultimate driver of progressive change.
He called on Nigerians to reflect deeply on the quality of representation at all levels of governance, particularly in legislative institutions, and to take responsibility for electing leaders with integrity, accountability and vision.
Kanma decried what he described as a decline in leadership standards in Delta North, attributing it to transactional and identity politics, and urged voters to reclaim their political space by insisting on leadership that genuinely represents the interests and welfare of the people.
Referencing the 2023 general elections, he noted that Nigerians had demonstrated the power of collective action, especially under the Labour Party platform, and called for renewed unity and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
He stressed that sustained cooperation, strategic alignment and active civic participation would be essential to achieving meaningful political change.
Kanma concluded by urging Nigerians to see Christmas as a moment of renewed faith in collective action, praying for peace, wisdom and strength to make the right choices for the country’s future.
