AFCON 2025 Poised For Record-Breaking Revenue

By FRED LONGJOHN OBEH
THE 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is on track to become the most lucrative edition in the tournament’s history, with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) reportedly generating nearly €300 million from sponsorships and ticket sales even before the competition begins.
Sources close to CAF reveal that this revenue already matches the combined earnings of the last four AFCON tournaments, highlighting a growing global appetite for African football. The surge is attributed to stronger commercial partnerships, expanded broadcast deals, and the tournament’s return to North Africa, where demand for match tickets has reached record levels.
CAF officials are expected to confirm the figures in the coming weeks, describing the financial performance as a “historic milestone” for African football. The 2025 edition will be hosted in Morocco, with matches set to kick off in December.
