NFF Cracks Down On NPFL Officiating Misconduct

By AUGUSTUS ISICHEI
THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has issued a stern warning to referees and assistant referees, pledging strict sanctions for any official whose actions compromise the integrity of Nigerian football.
In a memo from the NFF Refereeing Development Committee, the federation expressed concern over inconsistent officiating standards, acknowledging that while many uphold fairness, some conduct has undermined the sport.
To tackle the issue, the NFF has established a Monitoring Committee to observe matches across the NPFL, NNL, and NWFL, with reports guiding disciplinary actions.
The federation emphasized zero tolerance for misconduct, warning that erring referees could face dismissal and prosecution for sabotage or match manipulation. Officials are urged to act with diligence, honesty, and neutrality at all times.
