AFTER a 14-year hiatus, the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex welcomed the Nigeria International Trade Fair (NITF) back, running from 21 to 30 November 2025. Organised by the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, this year’s theme is “Trade, Technology and Transformation: Leveraging Digital Trade for Economic and Industrial Growth,” with a focus on digital enterprise, SME empowerment, non-oil exports, and sustainability.
Exhibitors and visitors flocked to the revived complex, which has undergone significant rehabilitation, including upgraded infrastructure, improved sanitation, tighter security, and inclusive access for youth and women entrepreneurs. The fair aims to facilitate business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) exchanges, networking, and intra-African trade via the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The opening ceremony featured notable guests, including Minister Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of State Sen. John Owan Enoh, Etsu Nupe Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, former Niger State Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, and industry leaders. Executive Director Barr. Vera Safiya Ndanusa described the fair as a symbol of Nigeria’s readiness to compete, collaborate, and innovate.
The event also showcased Nigerian culture through performances by Art Naija Cultural Group and poet Che Joy, highlighting the country’s artistic heritage alongside its commercial revival.
