Son Of Senator Kashamu Among Those Fingered In Murder Of Late Dowen College School Mate, Sylvester Oromoni
THE family of Senator Buruji Kashamu, who died of COVID-19 complications in 2020, has spoken out about his son, who is among those accused of allegedly torturing their 12-year-old school mate, Sylvster Oromoni, to death.
Oromoni hailed from Delta State. His death at 12 occurred at their unsupervised dormitory, at Dowen College, Lagos, but the Kashamus called for calm, while expressing support for the ongoing investigation into the matter.
Father of the co-accused, Senator Kashamu, served as a Senator representing Ogun East in the 8th National Assembly. He was Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on States and Local Government and a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State. He served as chairman, Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the PDP in the South West of Nigeria. In 2018, he was expelled from the People’s Democratic Party, a decision later voided by an Abuja High Court in October 2018. He was the 2019 Ogun State gubernatorial election candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
