2026 WCQ: Osimhen, Chukwueze Join Super Eagles As Camp Hits Full House
THE Super Eagles of Nigeria have reached full capacity at their Uyo camp as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The latest arrivals, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Raphael Onyedika, and Chrisantus Uche, have added depth and quality to the squad. They join early arrivals including Ademola Lookman and Cyriel Dessers, completing head coach Eric Chelle’s roster.
Training began on Tuesday evening with sessions focused on tactical drills, set-piece routines, and fitness conditioning. A second training session is scheduled for Wednesday as Chelle works to build cohesion and integrate all players ahead of the crucial qualifiers.
Osimhen’s proven goal-scoring ability is expected to give Nigeria an attacking edge, while Chukwueze’s pace and creativity on the wing provide another potent weapon. Arokodare brings versatility up front, Onyedika offers control in midfield transitions, and Uche adds strength in central areas, giving Chelle tactical flexibility for different match situations.
The Super Eagles will first host Rwanda in Uyo before travelling to Bloemfontein to face South Africa. With Group C qualification hopes on the line, Nigeria must secure maximum points to strengthen their path to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
