10,000 Students Apply For Karimi Foundation’s ₦300 Million Bursary
THE Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Education Foundation says it has received over 10,000 applications for their ₦300 million Bursary Award 2025.
Mr. Tosin Busuyi, the foundation’s Central Committee Secretary, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Lokoja.
He said the programme was designed to support Kogi students studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising the welfare of Kogi students, while ensuring a credible, fair, and transparent selection process for all successful applicants.
Busuyi explained that the bursary scheme, covering a year’s tuition, is facilitated through Senator Karimi’s Education Foundation.
“Each beneficiary will receive ₦100,000 to support their academic pursuits.
“A total of 3,000 tertiary students from Kogi State will benefit from the bursary award.
“Beneficiaries include 1,000 students from Kogi East, 610 from Central, and 1,390 from West Senatorial Districts,” he said.
Busuyi stressed that Senator Karimi’s dedication to Kogi students was reflected in the foundation’s continued effort to provide financial assistance to those in need.
He urged students yet to apply to complete their registration before the application deadline of 31 August.
The committee also advised students experiencing minor registration issues to resolve them before the closing date.
A report recalls that 2024’s bursary scheme saw Senator Karimi disburse ₦100 million to 1,000 students.
