🚦FRSC Shakes Up Command Structure With Major Redeployments For Safer Roads
THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has carried out a significant shake-up in its leadership, redeploying several senior officers across the country as part of efforts to strengthen road safety management and boost operational efficiency.
In a statement issued in Abuja by the Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, said the redeployments are designed to “reinvigorate the operations of the Corps” and ensure a more effective service delivery nationwide.
The new postings include a fresh appointment at the national headquarters, zonal commands, and state-level sector commands.
Key Redeployments
-
ACM G. Ntukidem, formerly Assistant Corps Marshal (Personnel), has been appointed Corps Secretary at the FRSC National Headquarters, Abuja.
-
ACM J.W. Toby, who previously served as Assistant Corps Marshal (Policy) in the Policy Research and Statistics Department, now assumes duty as Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO), RS11HQ Osogbo.
-
Other Assistant Corps Marshals and sector commanders were also assigned strategic portfolios across various regions, though details of their specific postings were not immediately released.
Why It Matters
The redeployment comes at a time when road safety remains a pressing national concern, with the rainy season and rising traffic volumes heightening accident risks. By repositioning senior officers, the Corps Marshal aims to inject fresh energy into critical commands and align leadership with the FRSC’s evolving operational priorities.
Mohammed reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to saving lives on Nigerian roads, stressing that the latest appointments reflect a deliberate strategy to match competence with responsibility.
“The FRSC remains dedicated to delivering on its core mandate of road safety management. These postings are not just routine—they are part of a broader effort to consolidate gains, address new challenges, and enhance public confidence in the Corps,” he said.
The statement urged the newly redeployed officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating renewed vigor, professionalism, and accountability in their new roles.
